Why the designated physician service?
Unless there is a dispute process involved in a workers' compensation claim, the employer cannot access the medical file maintained by the CNESST. However, through the designated physician service, the employer can obtain a summary of relevant elements from the medical file, along with the expert's opinion on the necessary actions to take. This allows the employer to receive sound advice from a medical legal expert while fulfilling their obligations.
